INNOVEXPO

Development of innovative applications for enhanced and interactive expositions

The project’s scope is the development of innovative applications, which incorporate scientifically documented content, and their original interconnection methodology, aiming at the enrichment and interactive presentation of exhibitions. It is a complex product that is addressed to museums, cultural centers, tourism organizations, as well as Greek and international production and business entities which organize or host exhibitions or are active in the specific field.

For the implementation and presentation needs of INNOVEXPO, we selected the editing and promotion of aspects of Greek mythology as a case-based study, which was based on geomythological research. Selected myths were interpreted through interdisciplinary approach and the causes of their formation were substantiated in relation to natural phenomena, as they emerged from local and global geomorphological, geotectonic, and climatic changes.

All technological applications produced in this project articulated a prototype, interactive exhibition on Greek mythology, entitled “GEO Mythology | from the Myth to the Truth”, which was initially hosted at the Museum of Paleontology & Geology of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. In a modern and dynamic exhibition environment, visitors discover the connection between myth and science, via a comprehensive –experiential, cognitive, aesthetic and sensory– experience.

This project was implemented under the national-scope “Research – Create – Innovate” action (1st cycle) and co-funded by the European Union and national resources through the “Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship & Innovation” Operational Programme (EPAnEK 2014–2020) and the NSRF 2014–2020.
