The design of the pilot route entitled “Man and Nature, a History in Time” showcases the Tatoi Royal Estate as an exemplar productive estate within a Mediterranean ecosystem that was greatly influenced by the human presence.
Aiming at attracting, informing and managing visitors, a series of lightweight constructions were created in 2012, which served as environment interpretation, visitor service and rest points, focusing on the estate, which amongst others includes stables, buildings for processing agricultural products and residences for workers.
The route features a small information center at the outpost, a rest kiosk, information, orientation and direction signs, stands of various types, sitting facilities, trash cans, etc. The design of all equipment was original, adapted to the landscape, while special attention was given to the application of specific signs regarding the various functions of the area.
The project was the result of the collaboration between TETRAGON, OIKOM LTD and OIKOS LTD. The graphic design was conducted by T. Georgiou and the sketches were made by V. Chatzirvasanis.
