The thematic Chios Mastic Museum at Pyrgi, by the Piraeus Bank Group Cultural Foundation, showcases the sustainability of the traditional cultivation and production history of the mastic processing and, at the same time, places it in the cultural landscape of Chios island.
The civilisation of mastic, an element of the identity of Chios, is highlighted with various means in the exhibition, archival photographs, models and dioramas, audiovisual productions, machinery, objects and multimedia applications, while in the outdoors exhibition the visitor can get in touch with the mastic tree and the environment it thrives in.
The architectural and museographic design was done by KIZIS ARCHITECTS SA, while TETRAGON with its collaborators constructed the curatorial applications with the cooperation of E. LIGNOS for the displays.
