Within the frame of preservation measures for the uniquely important palm forest of Vai in Crete, information signage and visitor rest infrastructure were designed and implemented.
The palm forest at Vai is one of the more popular tourist destinations of Crete and hosts an exceptionally large number of visitors during the summer months. In 2002, aiming to protect the forest as well as informing and managing visitors, a group of light structures was created, interpreting the environment and welcoming visitors to rest.
The forms of the visitor arrival, stay, rest and service areas were designed and information and viewing kiosks were implemented, as well as signage for directions and wayfinding, stops and information podiums. Graphic design was made by Colibri.
