Scope of the project is the production and analysis of a series of 50 genomes of prehistoric and historic humans, who lived in Greece from the Mesolithic to the Byzantine period, the creation of “individual biographies” based on the genetic phenotype and the macroscopic study of humans, and the implementation of these reconstructions in existing or new exhibitions in museums and cultural venues. The research program aims to preserve and digitize valuable data on cultural and biological heritage, distributing them to the general public.
Subsequent to the research programme, TETRAGON SA implemented the temporary exhibition “BioMuse | From bone fragments to human stories”, at the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki. The exhibition was organized in collaboration with the Museum and the Laboratory of Physical Anthropology of the Democritus University of Thrace, aiming to showcase and incorporate the research results via modern physical and digital means.
