AEGEAN - Birth Of An Archipelago
The exhibition “AEGEAN – Birth of an Archipelago” is an important cultural event, of high aesthetic and quality that showcases in a special way, through the birth and evolution of the Aegean, the cultural particularity, uniqueness and natural beauty of Greece. Framed with impressive exhibits, audiovisual productions and interactive educational applications, it invites the international audience to know Greece forming an exceptional tool of cultural and tourist promotion
The exhibition has already been successfully presented to this day at the Science Center and Technology Museum NOESIS in Thessaloniki, at the Eugenides Foundation in Athens and at Vittoriano in Rome, as a precursor of the international exhibition event EXPO 2015, while now it is being hosted at the National Hellenic Museum in Chicago, where it will stay until the end of 2016.
The exhibition is organised by the Natural History Museum of the Petrified Forest of Lesvos with the cooperation of the Museum of Geology and Palaeontology of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and the collaboration of the universities of the Aegean and Crete. The scientific supervision is by professor N. Zouros from the University of the Aegean and director of the Natural History Museum of the Petrified Forest of Lesvos, while TETRAGON provides the curating and architectural design of the exhibition.
